I am an accomplished IT professional with over 30 years of experience spanning multiple industries including manufacturing, banking, telecommunication and government.

I worked as a financial analyst and portfolio manager and started my own consulting business in 2022.

In 2010, he joined Siemens Canada and continued in various roles including his latest one as Country Lead (VP) of Engineering, Technical Excellence & Academics.

I am a 20 year resident of Oakville.

Martin Gegus lives in Ward 2 but attends St. Matthew's Parish.

I am a life-long resident of the GTA and have lived in Oakville for 21 years.

I have an engineering degree and an MBA from Queen’s University.

I was educated in the Catholic school system.

As a Catholic boy and educated in Catholic school systems, Dr. Murad is passionate about the importance of the Separate School system

Since 2019, Tom has been appointed by the Ontario Minister of Universities and Colleges as a Board member of the (PEQAB) Post-Secondary Education Quality Assessment Board and is serving in this position until 2028

IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineering) Canada immediate Past President & Chair of the Board of Directors.

I believe in the preservation of Catholic values and a refocusing of the board’s priorities on academic achievement free of political interference.

A strong focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics are important ingredients in that success.

Students in our schools should be secure in the knowledge that educators will stand by them when they express their Catholic values and ensure an environment free of bullying, harassment and other forms of intimidation.

Bring back religious instruction with standardized testing and published results for all grades, with strong Catholic faith formation.

Supporting Catholic faith based curriculum.

The board’s 2026 budget exceeded $500M, comparable to many large corporations. The taxpayers have a right to know if their funds are being spent in a manner that maximizes the benefits to the students

Tom will support initiatives that improve student outcomes, managing priorities within available fiscal budgets while Oakville continues to grow.

Equitable funding should be available for all schools in Halton. The Catholic schools should be treated the same as the public schools for all students to reach their full potential.

Tom will be a voice for Oakville schools that need funding for facilities and infrastructure to improve education delivery in a safe, inclusive and well maintained environment.

Parents are the primary educators of their children.

Always listening to parents and fostering collaborative dialogue.

I commit the time to listen, understand and represent the needs of parents, caregivers, students, teachers and community stakeholders through open communication channels.

I know that Mario will help create balance and be a measured and focused Trustee with the Halton Catholic school board.

Adopt a single flag policy for schools: the Canadian flag.

Ensure a sanctity of life policy for the Board.

It is clear to me that our children’s education and their moral development are the most important issues of the day.

Respectful collaboration with Teachers and Staff is a high priority.
